Functional evaluation An essential step in the development of payment terminals and the associated applications is a functional evaluation of the proposed solutions. This type of evaluation verifies the conformity between terminal characteristics and applicable specifications. In the field of banking applications, ELITT proposes various series of evaluations to help terminal vendors assure compatibility with French and international specifications and optimize their terminal development and risk management.MethodologyOnce the configuration of the terminals has been successfully set up, multiple series of tests are realized dependant on the future utilization of the equipment. For all international operating terminals EMVCo Level 2 tests are performed in our accredited laboratory. This kernel of tests verifies the functional compatibility between the payment card and the terminal. Once the Level 2 tests are passed, specific integration specifications allow the utilization of the terminal through a payment scheme. Depending the type of international application, either Visa integration tests using the Acquirer Device Validation Tool Kit (ADVT) and/ or MasterCard Worldwide integration tests using the Easy TEst Card (ETEC) are required to allow the concrete functioning of the terminal in the field. For the terminal accreditation for the French market both ADVT testing and ETEC certification (AOS, Approval of Supplier) is required. Finally a series of specific CB tests is rolled-out to achieve CB accreditation. Each passage of a suite of test is accompanied by an exhaustive tests report, including all results and possible non-conformities encountered. ELITT also helps with Debug sessions and Product expertise. |
